
Winchester Model 1885 High Wall Rifle
The frame is of the "thinside" design flaring out to match the stock. There is a front bladed sight with a rear buckhorn sight as well as a flip up tang sight. The barrel features standard markings and lacks the patent dates found on later rifles.
Caliber markings can been found on top the barrel in front of the frame. The barrel is marked with a "3" on the underside noting the barrel weight. The gun is in overall good condition. The blueing is all but gone in its place a nice brown patina showing the age of the rifle.
There are minor dings present in the sidewalls of the frame and on the barrel near the caliber markings and forend. The bore features sharp lands and grooves with light pitting throughout. Serial Number 30,888. manufactured in 1889.
