Hohokam Axe

Hohokam Axe

Late unridged 3/4 groove axe form. Little shaping is apparent other than the hafting groove and the formation of the bit. The X/Y edges are basically parallel over the length of the axe and terminate in a broad, rounded bit. Little attention has been paid to the head and it remains irregular. The A/B faces are somewhat convex and terminate in a narrow wedge shape. The bit edge is polished and the only well formed part of the axe, there is little polishing anywhere else. This axe was made in a time when attention to details and stone workmanship in general was in decline.

This item is guaranteed to be of the time period and condition as described, has been exported legally and is legal to buy and sell under all international laws relating to cultural patrimony.
