Wing Bone Whistles
Collection of three prehistoric carved and polished wing bone whistles with incised designs. The whistles are all intact. One has a vertical crack which would need to be filled with pitch to be functional. All have some incising/engraving which is not typical but special. They are all high polish where they were not "dug up" pieces. We are assuming there was a small piece of pitch of a reed that was organic and was inserted to make the whistles similar to a flute that has now degraded. These are difficult to find one a a time let alone as a collection.
PERIOD: Prehistoric
ORIGIN: Great Plains - Northern Plains, Native American
SIZE: Longest 4.5"
