Sioux doll family with a male, female and baby. Male is carrying a pipe bag and the female has a quilled breastplate. All three have the same grandmother's hair. Brain tanned doe or antelope skin. Male and female 10", baby girl 4". This piece has been in the family for three generations and was purchased directly from the Sioux at a trading post in Pine Ridge, South Dakota where the grandfather owned a store. Family written notes state that Sitting Bull was buried behind the store. The piece was later handed down to the daughter and granddaughter from whom we acquired.
