Pair of Nuu-chah-nulth Model Totems

Pair of Nuu-chah-nulth Model Totems

This pair of colorful larger Nuu-chah-nulth model totem poles were likely made for a curio shop in Seattle or Victoria sometime around 1915. The poles still have their original paint and have fantastic patina.

The pole on the left features an eagle and a pair of frogs (especially nice, see detail photo) facing each other over a humanoid head. The pole on the right features a raven, a humanoid figure, and some sort of bird near the base. These charming poles have been together for over a century, so they are being offered here as a set. An excellent pair of early, museum-quality Nuu-chah-nulth model poles that would elevate any collection. Priced as a pair. 26"
