
Nuu-chah-Nulth Totem
This pole is carved in cedar and painted in blue, red, and black paints. The style of carving (especially the Killer Whale and the “ledge” on the brow of the Mask) and the almond-shaped eyes and painting (especially around the eyes of the Mask and the mustache) are diagnostic features of Nuu-chah-nulth model poles from the 1920s and 1930s.
Old, period-correct white and red label on the back with some indistinct writing. 10"H
