The pole is carved in yellow cedar that has been painted black, perhaps in an attempt to mimic the appearance of argillite, which may have been more appealing to tourists at the time. This pole is very well-carved and mounted on a thin, hand-made base. 10" x 1 1/2" x 1 1/2"
