(1859 - 1934) Oil on canvas; 14" x 22". Born in Austria, John Fery led European nobility on hunting trips throughout northwestern US between 1892 and 1893. During these trips, he painted his first landscape of the American West. Fery exhibited at the World's Columbian Exposition in Chicago in 1893. Commissioned by the Great Northern Railroad, Fery also aided in the creation of Glacier National Park by painting the scenery in order to attract people to the area. Fery died in Everett, WA.
