Three rod Washoe Degikup pictorial basket with designs on red bracken fern on a natural willow ground. This basket is of Degikup style polychrome design with deer, butterflies and eagles on tree branches. It has been photographed and advertised for display only in the Palm Springs Life Magazine edition of March 1977 entitled "Galleria De Sol" an American Indian Art magazine during 1979 by Coffman's Fine Art. Purchased by Charles Alan Coffman's paternal grandmother, Mrs. Mary Lamb, Cartright from the weaver Maggie Mayo James at the Yosemite Park in 1917. It remained in Mrs. Courtright's collection until her death in 1965. It was inherited by Barbara Courtright Coffman Burns, the natural mother of Charles Alan Coffman. Mrs. Burn's gifted the basket to Charles Alan Coffman in 1973. It remained in Mr. Coffman's possession until June 15, 1999. Ex. Bonhams
